About the Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe SSD 1TB
The Samsung 990 EVO Plus is an internal M.2 2280 NVMe SSD for upgrading desktops, laptops and PS5 storage. Samsung rates the 1TB model at up to 7,150 MB/s sequential read and 6,300 MB/s sequential write on PCIe 4.0, fast enough to cut boot, load and file-copy times substantially compared with SATA drives.
It supports both PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces and works in PCIe 3.0 slots at lower speeds. A nickel-coated controller helps manage heat in thin laptops, and Samsung's Magician software handles firmware updates, health monitoring and data migration. The 1TB model carries a 600 TBW endurance rating and a 5-year limited warranty, whichever comes first.
