This cookie policy lists the cookies and similar browser storage used on the Sunbolt Electronics & Mobile website, what each one does, how long it lasts and how to control it. We keep the list short: essential storage for the cart, sign-in and your consent choice, and one optional first-party visitor ID that is set only after you agree.

What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember information between pages or visits. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps data on your device without sending it to the server with every request. We use both, and this page covers both.

Which cookies does Sunbolt use?

We use three essential items needed for the store to work and one optional first-party cookie that requires your consent. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Name Type Purpose Duration Consent needed
Cart storage Local storage (essential) Keeps the items in your cart between visits Until you check out or clear site data No
Account session cookie First-party, httpOnly (essential) Keeps signed-in customers signed in securely Session, or until you sign out or it expires No
Consent choice Local storage or first-party cookie (essential) Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies Up to 12 months No
sp_vid First-party cookie (optional) Random visitor ID used to understand page and product views Up to 1 year Yes

When you sign in to your customer account, we set an account session cookie. It is httpOnly, which means scripts in the page cannot read it, and it is sent only to our own site. It identifies your signed-in session so you can view orders and check out. It is removed when you sign out or the session expires.

The sp_vid visitor ID

The sp_vid cookie stores a random identifier, not your name or email address. It lets our website activity beacon group page and product views from the same browser, so we can see which products interest customers and improve the store. It is set only after you consent, lasts up to one year, and is sent only to our own point-of-sale system.

Does Sunbolt use analytics or advertising cookies?

No, not at present. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. If we enable Google Analytics 4 in the future, its cookies will load only after you consent through our cookie banner, and we will add them to the table above before they go live.

Use the cookie settings link in the website footer to accept or decline optional cookies at any time. Declining stops the sp_vid visitor ID and activity recording from that point. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, which removes all of the items above, including your cart.

What happens if I block cookies?

You can browse the website with cookies blocked, but some features will not work: signing in and checkout need the account session cookie, the cart needs local storage, and the site cannot remember your consent choice, so the banner may appear again on each visit.

FAQ

Cookie Policy: quick answers

Does Sunbolt use tracking cookies?

Only with your consent. Our one optional cookie, sp_vid, stores a random first-party visitor ID for up to a year so we can see which pages and products are viewed. It is not shared with advertising networks. Analytics cookies would only be added later, and only after consent.

Which cookies are essential?

The essential items are the account session cookie for signed-in customers, the storage that keeps your cart, and the record of your cookie choice. They are needed for the cart, checkout and sign-in to work and do not track you across other websites.

How is my cart saved?

Your cart is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. It stays on your device so items remain in your cart between visits. Clearing your browser's site data empties the cart.

How do I change my cookie consent?

Use the cookie settings link in the website footer. You can accept or decline optional cookies at any time. Declining removes the sp_vid visitor ID and stops activity tracking from that point.

Do you use Google Analytics?

Not at present. If we enable Google Analytics 4 in the future, its cookies will be set only after you consent, and we will list them on this page before they go live.

What happens if I block all cookies?

You can still browse the website, but signing in and checkout may not work, and the site cannot remember your cookie choice. Blocking local storage also stops the cart from saving between visits.

Does sp_vid follow me to other websites?

No. sp_vid is a first-party cookie, so it is readable only by our own website and is sent only to our own store system. It is not shared with advertising networks and cannot track you on other sites.
