About the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) Soundbar
Sonos Beam (Gen 2) is a compact smart soundbar for TVs of most sizes. It connects with a single HDMI cable to your TV's eARC or ARC port, so the TV remote controls volume, and it decodes Dolby Atmos, using psychoacoustic processing to create a sense of height without upward-firing drivers.
Inside are four elliptical midwoofers, a center tweeter and three passive radiators driven by five Class-D amplifiers. Speech Enhancement and Night Sound make dialogue clearer and late-night viewing quieter. It streams music over Wi-Fi from the Sonos app and AirPlay 2, works with Amazon Alexa or Sonos Voice Control, and can grow into a surround system with a Sonos Sub and rear speakers such as Era 100.

Does it need a separate subwoofer?
No. It is a complete soundbar on its own; a Sonos Sub can be added later for deeper bass.
Can I play music from my phone over Bluetooth?
No. Beam does not have Bluetooth; use the Sonos app, Spotify Connect or AirPlay 2 over Wi-Fi.
Will it work with my older TV?
Yes. If your TV lacks HDMI ARC, use the included optical adapter; Dolby Atmos requires an eARC or Atmos-capable ARC connection.
